Please note that as soon as the invoices are sent, the ‘Add Invoices’ sheet becomes empty and all the customer information is captured in the ‘Invoices Status’ sheet.

6. You can view as well as track the status of the payment links right from this ‘Invoice Status’ sheet with no dashboard login. This is possible with the two new clickable buttons, ‘Sync Status’ and ‘Resend Unpaid Invoice’.

7. Click on’Sync Status’ button to get a date filter pop-up. Here, select the date range from which you want an update on the payments details.

Now the selected payment links are refreshed with their payment statuses.

There’s an app for everything today! And when it is an app based business, there has to be a payment gateway to back the online payments. Introducing the new PayUmoney payment gateway Android SDK! It is way more than just free.

The payment gateway’s Android SDK has been re-designed to enable easier integration, simpler and efficient way to update new releases along with improved performance across various metrics.

From being a monolithic library, the SDK now has been divided into components. These components can be used as per the merchant’s need. One is the Core SDK and the other is the Plug & Play.

The Core SDK is all you need to accept online payments on your mobile app. It allows the users to pay using multiple options. The merchants get the ownership to design the user interface according to their own brand guidelines. Made substantially lighter, the library handles all aspects of payment processing with data security as the integral focus at every step.

The Plug and Play component comes with pre-designed user interfaces. The user interface is optimized and theme based to match the look and feel of the merchant’s app. The Plug and Play component is easy to integrate. It manages all the transaction processes along with providing the merchant a rich and optimized user interface with the superior user experience for the end customer.

Another aspect, that we worked on our SDK is how might we make it easy for our developers to push new releases and simultaneously keep it effortless for the developers using our payment gateway to upgrade to the newer versions. The updated SDKs are capable of new releases in the market without much impact on integration and complexity.

We are working towards making online payment processing simple yet efficient and secure. With more than 350 million smartphone users in India and more than 450 million internet users, the mobile app market is huge and we want to help you grow your business effectively over this opportunity.

The digital world has benefited sellers and merchants to reach their target audience better with increased efficiency. Here, one of the biggest challenge faced by most merchants online is the need to have a website. Having a website requires either you to have technical expertise or have a tech team to build a website for you. Not everybody is technically sound to develop websites and hiring a tech team can be a challenge.

This where E-Commerce stores and platforms come into play. You can build and set up your store within minutes and start selling by just uploading product images & filling in product descriptions. Once you have created your online store, next step is to integrate a payment gateway. Accepting payments online can become difficult for you since it requires stringent data encryption and security compliances.

With PayUmoney plugins for leading ecommerce platforms, you can get started without any programming or compliance hassles. Our payments platform can plug easily into some of the most popular e-commerce platforms & shopping carts like Shopify, KartRocket, Woocommerce, Magento, Prestashop, OpenCart, etc.

Why you should opt for PayUmoney plugin?

  • Eliminates the need to build a website from scratch.
  • Eliminates the hassle of integrating payment gateway with code.
  • Available on all popular ecommerce stores.

Integrate Payment Checkout on your ECommerce Store

There are two types of plugins –

For platforms like Shopify, you only have to enter your account’s key and salt in the Shopify’s dashboard after choosing PayUmoney as your payment checkout option.

shopify_new

For platforms like Magento, you can download the integration package and just upload the required folder to the control panel.

magento

Routing feature for Woocomerce, Magento, Prestashop and Opencart

routing

You can enable percentage based routing if both PayUMoney and CitrusPay credentials are filled up.  Percentage based routing helps in load balancing by dividing the consumer traffic between CitrusPay and PayUmoney. There are two boxes, one for PayUmoney and the other one for CitrusPay. Total of two boxes must be equal to 100%. E.g. if you want 50% of payments to be made using PUM and 50% through CitrusPay, you need to enter 50 in Route (%) PayUMoney box and enter 50 in Route (%) CitrusPay. This feature is only valid when you select both payment gateways as your checkout options.

Here’s a list of Plugins supported by us –

  • WooCommerce
  • Magento
  • Shopify
  • KartRocket
  • Prestashop
  • OpenCart
  • Ecwid
  • Joomla
  • Interspire

If you are a semi techie running your own online business, you’d know the struggle of evaluating and integrating various products/services in the market to either extend your product offering or to simplify the daily running of your business. But if you are a tech developer, you have to go one step further, you’d need to actually understand almost every possible detail about this new product you are trying to integrate, dodge your way through different APIs and finally test it. Developing a payment gateway is no different!

At PayUmoney, we get around 6000 to 8000 inquiries weekly from the above stakeholders to help them in the payment gateway integration process. PayUmoney’s updated and improved payment gateway Integration guide is an attempt to help them breeze through the integration process. Let’s walk through the guide improvements:

Overview & Reference Sections

Every product listed in the Payumoney developer guide is now divided into two sections. An overview section that gives an overall product overview for the startup founder and a reference section that gives a detailed integration reference to the developer integrating with us.

From the first set of feedbacks that we have received, this division of content has helped our merchants, especially the non-tech founders quickly evaluate us without getting lost in the technical details. Developers are also able to understand what the product is about first and do a deep dive into the technical integration reference.

integration guide

Clean API Documentation

API Documents have to be accurate, clean and well presented. And the latest trend in the API Documentation world is the three-panel design documentation. So we reinvented our API documentation using ReDoc – a powerful tool that helps us describe our APIs adhering to OpenAPI Specification.

Here, the left panel contains a scroll-synchronized reference menu. The middle panel contains endpoints/methods documentation. And the right panel contains various samples: request samples, response samples and code samples.

integration guide

We now have the ability to clearly document complex request/response payloads. The nested schemas are now displayed beautifully with the ability to expand and collapse. All these without compromising on accuracy as documentation is directly generated from the source code.

integration guide

Downloadable Integration Kits

The aim of the developer documentation is to make integration as seamless as possible. How much easier can it be, if all you would need to test a sample integration is to download an integration kit, host it on your local machine and click pay.

The kit handles request generation and response handling for you. All you would need to do is:

  • Link the request with an order in your system
  • Update the response status of the order in your system
  • Apply CSS to match the pre-checkout page design with your website theme

integration guide

Improved Content

All said and done, a developer guide is only as good as its content. A plethora of features is immaterial if the content is not up to the mark. This is where we have invested most of our energy on. We have critically analyzed the support tickets that come to us and have made improvements in those areas where we realized merchants/developers are finding it difficult to self-serve.

For example, we got feedback from few developers that they were earlier forced to spend a lot of time trying to figure out simple errors resulting from a wrongly configured SDK. Hence we have now included configuration steps with screenshots for each step involved and this is already yielding results in the form of decreased integration time. Similarly, installation and configuration steps have now been added for iOS SDK, Plugins etc.

Another challenge faced by merchant developers & designers alike is in identifying the payment integration flow as not many of them have a thorough idea how online payment works. The activity diagrams for checkout products is an attempt to solve this issue.

Conclusion

If you are a merchant or a developer currently integrating with our payment gateway and cannot find what you want on the integration guide, click support(?) on the top right corner of developer guide and contact our team directly. Do share with us your valuable feedback by writing to developerfeedbacks@payu.in.

When it comes to online payments, even small changes in the checkout flow can have a huge impact on the user experience. Your customer will be able to see only one type of checkout flow while making payments. But there are various types of checkouts be it web or mobile, to help you improve your customers’ online payments experience.

Web Checkouts

PayUmoney Classic Redirect

The fastest way to integrate PayUmoney on your website. It redirects your user to PayUmoney’s payment page from where the customer can pay through credit/debit card or net banking.

The features –

  • Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking
  • Custom Parameter Support
  • Saved Cards
  • Retries
  • UPI
  • EMI
  • Dynamic Pricing

In the classic redirect, the payment is initiated by sending a POST request to the Production Server or the Test Server depending on the development mode.

A Hash (checksum) is used to secure the transaction request and response. To do so a random numeric string is generated using a mathematical algorithm. The message is encrypted using a Secret Key called the “Salt” that will be with both authentic sender and receiver. Upon receiving the checksum the receiver decodes it using the same Salt. If the checksum is different on the receiver’s side, it means that the message is tampered and thus this transaction will be rejected for security purpose.

PayUmoney In-Context Checkout**

Moving a step ahead and eliminating redirection for the user completely, in this product a pop-up opens on merchant’s website and allows all payments to be made from the pop-up itself.

The Features :

  • Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking
  • Saved Cards
  • Digital Wallet
  • Third-party Wallet
  • Retries
  • Multi-Currency
  • Custom Parameter Support
  • Layout Theme Customization
  • UPI

Nitro Flow, which is available in both Classic Redirect and In-Context checkout allows the customer to save card while checking out. This is fetched the next time user tries to pay using same email or mobile combination. Here the user doesn’t have to login.

Mobile Checkouts

PayUmoney Native SDK

If you are building an app for Android or iOS, the PayUmoney Native SDK is your go-to option. It provides multiple payment methods as well.

The features –

  • Debit Card/Credit Card/ Net Banking
  • Digital Wallet
  • One-Tap Payment
  • Magic Retry
  • Saved Cards
  • Guest Checkout

The SDK provides inbuilt user login and token management with features like Magic Retry and auto OTP Read available as an optional add-on. The Auto OTP Read feature and one-tap payment enhances payment flow by reducing the number of clicks required by the user and results in improved success rates

PayUmoney Classic Redirect and In-Context Checkout for Mobile

The two checkout options can be integrated with your Android or iOS app. These two open on Mobile Web Browser or as In-App WebView.

Both of these options support responsive designs to support various screen sizes. Additionally, for In-Context Checkout, there is advanced caching to restore information even when a form is closed.

The Features –

  • Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking
  • Saved Cards
  • Digital Wallet
  • Third-party Wallet
  • Retries
  • Multi-Currency
  • Custom Parameter Support
  • UPI
  • EMI & Subscription
  • Dynamic Pricing
  • Discount & Cashback

**This checkout option is coming soon.

What is an online payments experience? Here’s the case of Prasad who is very hungry and decides to order food from a leading food ordering portal. Although he is a regular user of the portal, he has to fill in his card details every time he orders from the portal. This means he has to remember his card details or has to have it handy each time he orders online. Repetitive efforts to enter card details is one of the many pain points customers face while making online payments.

We at PayUmoney observed that payment checkout process which involves many steps usually leads to a high drop off rates. How about a feature which allows your customers to complete the payment via saved card or wallet balance without login multiple times?

A merchant’s primary concern is to give the best online payments experience to all his customers in a stipulated time span. We do understand this concern and hence are introducing a faster online payment checkout system called the Nitro Flow. The main benefit of this system is:

Fewer steps, Quicker payments

Integrating with nitro will help your customers save their valuable time. Customer details provided at the time of placing the order is synced with our database. In case of any saved cards or wallet, the information will be directly populated and shown. This feature leaves them with no multiple logins and hassle free transaction process.

Higher successful transactions

As your customers are not required to insert their card number and other details repeatedly, the question of incorrect details being filled doesn’t arise. Thus, minimizing the number of unsuccessful transactions to take place.

For instance, in the case mentioned above, the portal decides to integrate with PayUmoney’s nitro flow system. So now, after making his purchase and providing his mobile number and email id on the portal, Prasad will have to click on the “Pay now” button. He will be redirected to PayUmoney payment gateway page where his saved cards and/or wallet details will get populated. This will happen if the parameters passed by you i.e. customer’s email id and mobile number tallies with our database. In case the customer credentials do not exist, he will be simply asked to do a guest checkout.

Also, here you don’t have to worry about the security as your customer’s valuable credentials are stored in a highly secure PCI DSS environment.

Check this blog on Nitro flow integration to understand its unique features and simple process.

Online businesses are using technology to solve their business problems. If complex technical integration is a pain point & reason for your reluctance, then we have a good news for you! With the help of technology, PayUmoney is simplifying payments for both tech and non tech savvy merchants.

Recently, we made the checkout flow easier and faster. In this blog, let’s have a look at why merchants are using Invoicing solution to create bill templates & collect payments from customers, track the status of the invoices with ease. You’d want to know more about the invoicing solution, if you:

  • Want to create and send email and sms invoices within minutes if not in seconds
  • Don’t have tech team to integrate gateway
  • Want to collect upon delivery
  • Address the issue of abandoned cart
  • Collect payment from customer for specific product(s), without having them browse your website
  • Set Expiry time for the invoices you share

Recently, we added some more features to the existing invoicing system, let’s have a look here:

Reusable link

You can now broadcast invoices via links using the Copy link feature. Here, you can use a single link to receive payment from multiple customers. This saves you from the hassle of creating separate link for each customer! This means that you can share the links along with your social media post or marketing campaigns. Here, you also give your customers the option to complete the purchase with the help of the payment link.

Customize link

You can now send customized links using one or more of the below parameters:

  • Invoice number & Customer name – For merchants having their own billing system, the corresponding identifier for the bill can be passed for reconciliation
  • Tax & Shipping charges – For merchants whose products and services has provision for tax and shipping charge, the total amount can be broken up and shown

Steps to create Email/SMS Invoice

Login to your PayUmoney dashboard, go to Payment Links

Click on Send Payment Links and Fill up Email/Number, Amount, Description, Expiry date and time

Click on Send button

Message after sending the invoice successfully

The eco-system of financial services is undergoing an incredible transformation. One of the most important factors influencing this transformation is the continued adoption of mobile technology. People are using mobile as an integral part of their day-to-day lives and as a financial service aggregator, you need to get onboard.

In the recent years, mobile has contributed a positive impact on various financial services, with consumers shifting away from traditional practices. Mobile First solutions are cost-efficient, reliable and secure as sending money has become as easy as sending a text or making a phone call. Mobile First is at the center of transformation taking place across various key financial sectors such as:

  • Banking
  • NBFC
  • Insurance
  • Payments/Wallets

What is Mobile First?

Mobile first has become a popular trend, but what does mobile first mean? Mobile First is simply designing an online customer experience for mobile before designing it for the web or any other website.

In the past, when the consumer’s focus was on the desktop, the mobile design was an afterthought. But today, people are using their mobile devices for accessing various financial services and social networking than ever before.

Statistic Speaks

Mobile penetration is one of the most emerging markets and one which is showing no signs of any slowdown. This is one of the markets which is growing quickly, in the developing as well as in the developed countries. As per the International Telecommunication Union, the total number of mobile subscriptions has reached almost 6 billion, equivalent to a global penetration of 86%.

Today India boasts the second highest number of mobile users across the globe. The country has also now the world’s second-largest smartphone market, having overtaken the US in the first half of 2016.

What makes mobile a catalyst for financial services?

With the rapid growth in the user base, mobile today has increasingly become an important medium to reach the unbanked. It has the potential to create value on multiple fronts and improve the entire financial eco-system across sectors such as:

  • Banking & NBFC: Adoption of Mobile First approach in the banking sector can lead to significant cost advantage in the distribution of financial services. Mobiles allow banks to do their business more cost-effectively. With the help of mobile platform, reaching to a broader population becomes feasible, thus enabling financial inclusion. M-Finance helps to expand operations in remote or sparsely populated rural areas due to the high penetration of cell phones. For example, A migrant worker can avail emergency loans without going back to money lenders if the financial services reaches his doorstep swiftly.
    • Insurance Sector: According to a study conducted by LIMRA, nearly 86 percent of consumers prefer to research online about insurance policies. Also it was noted that one in every five searches for insurance globally, is from mobile. Mobile can definitely help insurance sector in tackling the challenges of mitigating risk, increasing productivity and enhancing customer experience. Through mobile marketing, Insurance companies can attract new customers and regain former policy holders.
  • M-Payments & Wallets: There are nearly two billion people across the globe that don’t have a bank account, out of these 1.7 billion have a mobile phone. Therefore it draws a huge potential for financial institutions to cater to such a potentially massive market.

Today Mobile money or M-Money has successfully substituted ATM and cash transactions across various countries globally. Almost all major banks, and many smaller banks, now offer some form of mobile banking application to support customers’ demands to be able to interact with their financial accounts anytime.

Banks are today well-positioned to leverage their position of trust by increasing the perceived value through various payments systems such as UPI, Wallets, NEFT, RTGS and IMPS. Mobile has the ability to create value for consumers at large and this is an exciting times where you should integrate mobile platform into your financial delivery systems aggressively.

You know how to choose the right payment partner and the important terms in the payments world. When you first integrated with an online payments provider, it was likely a very good solution for your business needs at that time. Now that your business has grown exponentially or you have newer markets to target e.g. taking your business globally, you might have to move from the existing gateway as it no longer fulfills your business needs. Here are a few important points to help you in your decision while changing your payment partner.

Platform

Have you set up your store on a third party platform or a Content Management System? First things first, evaluate whether the new solution provider is compatible with the platform that your online business is set up on. You wouldn’t want to put in efforts, only to find out later that the new solution provider won’t work on your platform.

Development time

Development efforts and time are the most important parameters that often decide the course of action when integrating a new payment gateway. Make sure your developer and IT team is in sync with the integration decisions because ultimately there the ones responsible for the timely completion of the technological integration. Good payment partners will have the developer guides and integration documentation for you to access while integrating.

Gain v/s Loss?

While switching to a new payment integration it is more likely that it will have better tech, higher conversion and a better user interface. But it is important that you don’t get carried away by this. Keep in mind to review all the payment options supported by the potential payment gateway, it may happen that it doesn’t support an instrument say wallet or premium credit cards. Consider the impact of any addition/removal of any payment option on your customers.

Pricing v/s better conversions

Check if the increase in fees/pricing will have any positive impact on your business. You may want to shell out extra if you are getting higher conversions, more payment mode, more reliable and robust systems, higher up-times and better experience for your customers. Having said this, do some calculation so that it doesn’t affect your profit margin before switching over to a new payment partner.

Listen to your customers

Customer like the freedom to choose how they pay. Depending on your use case and customer preferences give flexibility in terms of payment options for your customers. For example, if you’re selling internationally, you will want to give your customers option to pay in their local currency.

Like most merchants, you may be apprehensive when changing your payment gateway. Ensure that you consider the above important things to help calm your nerves. The right payment partner will not only help you with your current but also future needs so that you don’t have to change payment integration multiple times.
